Plotaholics Podcast, Episode 141 – Throw Momma from the Train

This week, Shane and Bryan go back in their time machine to a simpler time in life, and in film making, when you could pay cash for a plane ticket and give false names. It was a time when people couldn’t protect their intellectual properties from theft, and when you could write a children’s book with an atrocious title.

Yes! We are back in the 1980s with the 1987 black comedy, Throw Momma From the Train, starring Billy Crystal, Danny Devito, Anne Ramsey, and Kate Mulgrew.

In this film, Larry (Crystal) is a failing author teaching community college-level creative writing. He is also angry that his ex wife (Mulgrew) stole his book. When one of his hapless students (Devito) kills the book thief, Larry is expected to return the favor. How? By taking out his student’s mother.

You’ll laugh. You’ll scratch your head. You’ll realize the people in this movie are assholes, and Branford doesn’t even play music!

Kick back, relax, and enjoy our review of Throw Momma From The Train.
