Plotaholics Podcast, Episode 137 – Cannibal Holocaust

Before we get into this week’s advertised content, this is a content warning.

Look, this movie is F’d up to the extreme. This is not a joke. Cannibal Holocaust is one of the most controversial films of all time for good reason. It contains scenes of animal abuse and “simulated” violent sexual conduct. So, if you are triggered in any way by these topics, this episode is not for you, and we accept and support your choice to keep yourself from this week’s episode.

This week, The Plotaholics tackle the most challenging film they’ve ever done in 1980s Cannibal Holocaust. This Italian found-footage film follows a professor of anthropology on his search for a documentary crew lost in South America. Upon finding said footage, questions of sensationalism, barbarism, and entertainment are explored, much in the way that those topics are still discussed today.

Listen in as Shane and Bryan discuss the controversial and challenging film, Cannibal Holocaust.
