Plotaholics Podcast, Episode 23 – Son in Law

The Plotaholics celebrate Thanksgiving with Pauly Shore.

Do you know all about chickens? Because we know all about chickens! Gobble! Gobble! Gobble!

As we get closer to Thanksgiving 2019, the Plotaholics decided that it’s time to get festive. And what better way to show our Thanksgiving Spirit than to review the Pauly Shore classic (?), Son-In-Law!

Special shout-out to our long-time listener and friend of the show, Mary Jane, for suggesting this movie for our Thanksgiving indulgence.

Son-in-Law is a classic fish-out-of-water tale as we see South Dakotan, Becca, meet the epitome of 1990s, southern California stereotype, Crawl. On Thanksgiving break of her first semester at college, Becca uses Crawl a buffer between her and her high school sweetheart–the easily hated Travis. As is the case with most 90s movies of this brand, comedy is going to comedy, and shenanigans are going to shenanigan.

Who knew rollerblades could solve so many problems?

Now the Plotaholics don’t like being lied to, so this film already has a strike against it because it definitely doesn’t have not even ONE son-in-law in it. Yet, we have to give credit where credit is due and celebrate the first-ever Plotaholics Hat Trick, Trifecta, Tic-Tac-Toe as this is the third film we’ve covered this year with a High School Graduation in its opening scene!

So sit back, relax, munch on some grindage with The Weasel, and enjoy 1993’s Son-In-Law starring Pauly Shore!
